For a long time, the building in which the enoteca is housed, just outside Caluso town center, was the Levi distillery headquarters. This has been a center of the wine trade since 1868, and since 2009, thanks to Corrado Nicoli, a very well-stocked enoteca with 2,000 labels from all over the world. Here they also organize tastings and the spacious backroom, lined with shelves packed with valuable bottles, can be booked for events. Besides a strong presence of great Piedmontese and Italian wines, the range also includes labels from France, with the Champagnes both of great maisons and of small producers. One curiosity is the offer of old vintages of Passito di Caluso from the 1960s and 1970s, made possible by the enoteca’s policy of buying up old cellars and valuating period labels. Recently the range of whiskies (as well as of other famous spirits) has been consolidated and now boasts about 400 labels, some from Japan and India. In the autumn period gift boxes and baskets are prepared for Christmas containing not only wines but also impressive selections of fine deli products, from caviar to foie gras, from confectionery to charcuterie.
