In the old clock building in the heart of Turin’s Porta Palazzo market, the Biolatto horse meat butcher’s stall continues a family history that began in 1984, when Ilario Biolatto was taken on at the stall and decided to specialise in horse meat. In 1990 Ilario and his wife Rosi first took over the management of the stall, then bought it, and it is now an “institution” in the covered market: today their young son has joined them and continues to pursue the trade with equal dedication.

Cuts include classic hand-chopped meat (also in salad form with cherry tomatoes, grana and rockets), slices for grilling, tender stewing steak, juicy roasts and craft preparations that facilitate cooking at home. Horse meat, lean and rich in iron and vitamins of the B group, is a tasty, healthy diet choice. Recently Stefano has acquired an ultra-modern rational oven which, at the request of customers, he is using more and more to cook ready meals, roasts and meat loaf in particular.
