Paolo Berger began to practise beekeeping as a hobby but in 2021 he decided to transform it into a business in Venaria Reale. For him, farming bees means above all respecting their well-being: every hive is placed in a suitable environment and moved with the seasons and the blossoming of the various plants and flowers. The acacia, lime and spring wild flower honeys come from Venaria Reale itself, while the precious nectars for the Alpine flora and rhododendron honeys, both included in the Slow Food Mountain Valley Presidium, are gathered in the Valli di Lanzo and Val di Viù. The chestnut honey, finally, comes from Coassolo. None of the products is subjected to commercial processing in order maintain all its natural properties and preserve its scent and aroma. It is often possible to find the honeys at fairs and at the various Slow Food Earth Markets in Turin and its province.
