After years spent travelling the world, from the Mediterranean to Africa and America, Giulia Guastella chose to return to her roots in the Susa Valley and settled in Borgone di Susa. In 2019,here on Susa-bound Road 25, she opened her craft gelateria with workshop and shop, which also sells a selection of Valley delicacies, The ice cream is made with the finest ingredients: from milk from a local farm, to organic eggs, to seasonal fresh fruit (raspberries, cherries, peaches, and plums, as well as persimmons, chestnuts, figs and pears, and so on). Alongside great classics such as milk-free plain chocolate and hazelnut, the range makes a point of featuring local flavours, such as Vaie canestrelli and cornmeal biscuits, while in the confectionery workshop they make artisan cakes, tarts and biscuits. Giulia attaches great attention to sustainability and bitten as ever by the travel bug, is a regular participant at fairs and markets in the Susa Valley, where you can’t miss her characteristic blue and white ice cream van.
