The Tea

The Tea

www.thetea.it

A historic place for tea lovers in the very centre of Turin, not far from the Porta Palazzo market. The shop is housed in an old coffee roasting workshop which as early as the late 19th century was selling blends of different qualities, inundating it with the inebriating aroma of roasted coffee. Today, instead, Claudia Carità sells tea from all over the world, as well as accessories, filters, spices, and coffee too. From white tea to green tea, to wulong and pu’er, there’s an embarrassment of choice. White tea has always been acknowledged as the most prized variety because if is constituted solely of apical buds: besides excellent Chinese qualities the shop also sells Nepal White Shangri La, a rare delicate white tea from the Nepalese Himalayas. Also on sale hundreds of tea-related goodies such as matcha crunchies, jams, sauces, dorayaki, Japanese rice crackers and traditional Piedmontese biscuits such as Garibaldi, cornmeal cookies and peanuts with  wasabi.
