Opened in Turin by Riccardo Serra in 2011, this gelateria carries on his family’s tradition in the craft ice cream sector. It produces its ices without prepared mixes, using only high-quality natural ingredients: milk and cream come from Piedmontese dairies, seasonal fruit from local growers, the hazelnuts are PGI Piemonte Igp, the pistachios are Sicilian and the plain chocolate is courtesy of Ziccat (also a Master of Taste). A distinctive technique used is the 24-hour maturation of the bases prior to whipping, which has been handed down by the family and serves to ensure creamier, more digestible ice cream. The product range comprises flavours such as gianduja and the so-called Vissi d’arte seasonal specialities, sorbets, Sicilian granite and milk-free ices. And if you wish, you can enjoy your choice comfortably seated at the pretty outside tables on Via Cibrario. Next door to the gelateria is a cafeteria which serves the products of other Masters of Taste. By virtue of the quality of its ingredients and interest in the local area, La Tosca has won a number of prestigious awards. Closed on Monday.
