Alberto Marchetti is an entrepreneur who has created a “universe of sweetness” round ice cream, diversifying his various interests, while always keeping them complementary. His product range spans from cream spreads and panna cotta to caramel in jars and Zabà, zabaglione in a jar available in a variety of flavours (Marsala, Moscato, Passito and so on) to go with ice cream to yeasted Christmas cakes such as Panduja, a pandoro in the shape of a giant giandujotto coated with cocoa powder. In 2024 Alberto Marchetti also began stocking Dolciaria Fontana’s famous nocciolini di Chivasso, tiny traditional biscuits which – as chance would have it! – are perfect as an ice cream topping. His latest enterprise is the “village of taste” dedicated to slow living and fine eating at Cocconato in the Monferrato hills, complete with an osteria, a pizzeria, a pork butcher’s, a pasta workshop and, of course, a gelateria. Speaking of ice cream, despite the expansion in scale, Marchetti’s, made with excellent ingredients from the local area and beyond, is as good as ever.
