This attractive shop (open on Thursday and Friday from 8.30am to 12.30pm and 3pm to 7pm, and Saturday from 8.30am to 6.30pm) is a showcase for Coalvi, a livestock farm specialised in Piedmontese cattle just metres away, and thus sells a large number of its products. At the large main counter, you’ll find leg of veal, chuck steak, sirloin, chops, fillet, calf’s head, tongue, and so on: all the classic cuts are available, even though customer demand is moving more and more towards ready-to-serve products such as hamburgers, roast beef, bombette, or stuffed meat rolls, raw veal salad, cordon bleu, meatballs in tomato sauce, stewed tripe and veal sausage. The shop also sells a few Canavese specialities such as salampatata, potato salami, and fresse, offal meatballs wrapped in intestine. Pork and chicken are supplied by select Piedmontese producers, and the range is rounded off by an impressive variety of cheeses and gastronomic delicacies, all regularly available.
