Walking into the shop is like embarking on a fantastic voyage into the world of cheese. Luciano devotes his life to sourcing the best cheese producers and affineurs in Italy and beyond. He has always taken an interest in the Slow Food presidia and he always stocks a great selection of raw milk cheeses from small local producers. It’s impossible here to mention all the specialties on sale, partly because their presence or otherwise in the shop is seasonal. Noteworthy among the classics available are the Parmigiano Reggiano, the Fontina, the mozzarellas and burratas, and the Raschera, not to mention the super-fresh ricottas, the different varieties of toma from the Piedmontese valleys and the superlative toma di Gressoney. In the course of the year it’s also possible to find he likes of Bettelmatt, Plaisentif, Montebore and Robiola di Roccaverano. The fine array of foreign cheeses ranges from Gruyère to British Cheddars. The shop also sells a small selection of prime-quality honeys, wines and charcuterie.
