The Casa Clara project was launched in 2018 by Silvia Wdowiak, a dynamic Polish entrepreneur who came to live in Italy in 1997.

It was then that she bought an abandoned building and garden in her beloved Borgo Vittoria neighborhood on the road to the Savoy royal residence of Venaria Reale. After restructuring the property, she purchased the modern machinery and crreated an artisan gelateria to cap her studies and experiences all over Italy.

The layout and the look conjure up Sicily, a place central to her professional background. The island’s influence is visible in the décor and the products, starting with the exquisite granitas – be sure to taste the traditional almond version, the mulberry and the citrus fruit – creations such as Piana Catanese (almonds, orange and salt brittle) and classic flavors such as pistachio, and ending with the famous brioche con il tuppo, a Sicilian bun.

Not that Sicily is the only inspiration for Casa Clara, where all the ingredients are carefully selected, and include a number of Slow Food Presidia. There’s also a homage to Piedmont in the form of the Bogianen ice cream flavor (with cocoa beans and ratafia liqueur).
