This, the Piedmontese regional wine collection dedicated to the province of Turin, is housed in the cellars of the 17th-century Palazzo Valperga di Masino. These collections, designed to promote local areas and their finest wines, are all based in beautiful historic buildings and the one in Caluso is no exception. It has a cellar space of 100 square metres, ten exhibition spaces, and a large tasting room where visitors can sample the wines of the 30 or so producers represented. Among the labels up for tasting and on sale are great reds such as Nebbiolo, Bécouet and Valsusa, and fruity, light whites such as the iconic Erbaluce di Caluso. The wines of the province of Turin come from four distinct geographical areas – the Pinerolo area, the Turin hills, the Susa Valley and the Canavese district – and have unique sensory characteristics thanks to the climate and the terrains which, albeit often close to one another, produce very diverse wines Here it is also possible to buy fine local artisan products, including those in the consumer price market basket of the province of Turin.
