For more than 50 years now, Walter and Monica Gallizioli’s patisserie in the centre of San Mauro Torinese has been renowned for the quality and goodness of its craft products.

For breakfast it offers 15 different types of French-style croissants, apple turnovers, cannoli filled with zabaglione or pistachios, and the distinctive orange rondello with an almond crust. The counter brims with classic petite-patisserie and specialities such as shortcrust flambé with crème chiboust flavoured with exotic fruits, and goodies for the lactose-intolerant such as shortcrust rice cake and apples with fruit jams.

Traditional cakes feature shortcrust apple tart with black cherry preserve, Sachertorte and peach brulée. A summer novelty is the coconut and raspberry cake with Batida liqueur.

Popular in the festive period pandoro coated with buttercream and Le colline di San Mauro (The Hills of San Mauro), a composition of chocolate houses. Also enjoyable are the savoury pastries filled with local produce and the panettone Bellavista, as well as canapés and puffed pastry baskets to go with drinks.

Chocolate, ice cream and gift ideas round off the vast range of products on sale.
