Giulia Guastella, a native of the Val di Susa, travelled the world before coming home in 2019 to realize her secret dream, to open an ice cream parlor.
The workshop and shop are situated in Borgone on Susa-bound state highway 25 and the array of products on display include some chosen among the various Masters of Taste and others from carefully selected local producers: hence honeys, fruit and vegetable preserves, jams, flours, wines and beers. The feather in the shop’s cap, however, is without doubt the ice cream, produced with the finest ingredients, many supplied by valley producers – dairy milk, organic eggs, exclusively seasonal fruit – with a special eye on sustainability: takeaway cartons, spoons and tubs are all compostable, while the milk is transported in sanitized steel churns.
Giulia often travels round the valley in her blue and white Apecar-cum-ice cream van. In addition to classic flavors, she produces the more original licorice, cornmeal and canestrelli di Vaje. Visit Giulia’s social media pages to check out opening times.
