This little family-run temple of fruit and vegetables was established 40 years and three generations ago in Via Piol, a pedestrian precinct right in the very heart of Rivoli. Pietro Gaido has the job of selecting produce and he does it with notable care. He’s a great lover of mushrooms and truffles which, in season, take pride of place in the shop. The selection of zero-mile seasonal vegetables, certified organic produce and Slow Food Presidium products is impressive and includes Moncalieri cauliflower, Orbassano red celery, Caraglio garlic, Giarratana onion, Nizza Monferrato “hunchback” cardoon, heirloom Piedmontese apples, and much more besides. Also on sale fine products sourced from select producers, such as Centonze extra virgin olive oil from Sicily, and a vast selection of packaged goods, preserves, dried fruit, pasta and rice. Open from Monday to Friday from 8am to 12.30pm, and on Saturday from 4pm to 7.30pm.
