And it is quality that underpins the philosophy of this business, owned by Riccardo Ronchi and Edoardo Patrone. The three shops in Turin are always busy, especially the largest on Piazza Carlina, which also features coffee and chocolate. The flagship product, however, continues to be ice cream from the sourcing of the most outstanding ingredients to the pursuit of flavor, not to mention wholesomeness thanks to a well-calibrated use of fats and sugars. A partial exception to the rule has been made for one of the most recent flavors, Langarolo, a finger-licking concoction of hazelnut and hazelnut chocolate with gianduja ripple. Other flavors, classic and innovative, are all very balanced. They include: salted almond with apricot compote, fruit sorbets, Bocuse (pistachio, powdered caramelized almond and candied lemon) and panera (Genoa-style coffee cake). Last but not least, Marotto, is nothing other than iced gianduiotto, available in three versions.
