This parlour has a long tradition behind it and is a benchmark for artisan ice cream-making in Turin. For about 30 years now, Leonardo La Porta, who took it over from Miretti family, inheriting their experience and love of quality, has continued to receive accolades in the sector. Just recently he won the popular jury’s first prize at the 2018 Gelato Festival, for his Crema San Giovanni flavour, dedicated to the patron saint of Turin, made with a bread, pepper and saffron custard. His Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco ice cream, created to commemorate Pope Francis’s visit to the Monferrato hills, was also a huge success at the festival. Other flavours not to be missed are full cream with Belgian chocolate, pure cocoa with plain chocolate chips (which won a prize at the Gelato World Tour), meringue, ‘nocciolino di Chivasso’, orange cream and zabaglione. At the outside tables it’s also possible to enjoy breakfast or aperitifs and in the adjoining premises they craft-roast three Premium Club Coffee blends: classic, 100% Arabica and Puerto Rico. Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 7am to 1am.
