Run by the indefatigable Gianluca and Federica, this modern patisserie is a popular meeting place in the heart of Carmagnola. From early in the morning it serves croissants, cannoli and soft pain au chocolat, and its fresh cakes and buns and pastries are of the highest quality. Specialities of the house include Sorrisi di Carmagnola, plain or coffee-flavoured bonbons. Also available, in addition to classic cakes for special occasions, Gianduietta, Nocciolosa (a hazelnut creation that won first prize for best birthday cake at the Sigep event in Rimini in 2020) and L’estiva, a special summer cake with mango, salted caramel and pineapple. Gourmands will also love the mason jar specialities such as savoury panettone with onion, mini Sachertorte and Carmalanga, a pepper, hazelnut and raspberry mould. The excellent savoury range features designer canapés and cones with tempting flavours such as Carmagnola pepper with bagna caoda, omelette with bacon and creaed leeks, and toma del fen, cheese matured in hay, and beef sausage, all worth the journey on their own. In 2019 an eco-sustainable gelateria was added next door with low-sugar ice creams in 22 flavours, and homemade 50% fruit granitas and ice lollies. We recommend the zabaglione, the Paradiso di Dante (peach, amaretto and chocolate buds) and the moscato.
