Mulino di Piova

A historic mill in the Canavese area, established in 1911 and run since then by the Pagliero family, who monitor every stage in production, from ingredient supplies to the sale of the finished product. The cereals used come mainly from small growers in the Canavese and neighbouring areas, thus ensuring a controlled local supply chain. The mill sells different types of flour, among which white maize, buckwheat and classic, often stone-ground, as well as wheat flour of varying degrees of strength, rice and mixed cereal. At the mill shop it is possible to buy products made with the flours, such as traditional Piedmontese grissini, biscuits and cornmeal cookies. With its combination of craft quality and care for the land, the mill still conserves a sort of olde worlde charm. Situated on the River Piova, just before its confluence with the Orco, it offers visitors an environment that is evocative and rich in history.
