Opened in 1970 as a pastry shop, in 2000 this workshop began to specialise in chocolate with creations inspired by the town of Ivrea and surrounds: hence Tastini (mini chocolate sandwiches with images of typewriters) and Pavè (plain and milk chocolate cubes coated with orange-flavoured chocolate inspired by the historical “Battle of the Oranges,” which takes place in the streets of Ivrea in the Carnival period). The bond with the local area is consolidated in the Cichet line of chocolate globes filled with typical wines and spirits such as passito, ratafià, vermouth, elderflower and genepy. Farfui are pralines filled with hazelnut and gianduja cream wrapped in a biscuit wafer, while Giuraje are hazelnut candies coated with royal icing, typical of the Canavese tradition. Rounding off the range of goodies are Curve della Dora (butter cookies coated in chocolate), Ciotoli del castello (crushed hazelnut and chocolate cookies) and Volte della piazza (ring biscuits that recall one of Ivrea’s piazzas). Products may be bought wholesale or online or at the shop from Tuesday to Saturday from 9.30am to 1pm and 3.30pm to 7pm.
