Andrea Perino needs no introduction. His painstaking professionalism and passion for the world of bread and yeasted cakes have led him, together with his wife Chiara, to make his shops (the one in the city centre first and foremost) undisputed reference points for quality. The large counter at the entrance to the shop in Via Cavour welcomes customers with a display of a large section of the product range: pizza and focaccia, including the simple but delicious Ligurian version, biscuits (“baci di dama” and “ventaglietti”, above all), brioches, canapés, mini-pizzas, cakes (the lemon cake is delicious) and, last but not least the “king” of them all – bread. The one known as “Felice”, fragrant, soft and tasty, is made with heritage grain varieties. The other typologies include one with einkorn wheat flour and another with wholemeal rye flour, mixed cereal sandwich loaves and, at Christmas, bread with plain chocolate chips and roasted hazelnuts. This is also the ideal place for breakfast with a nice cup of coffee or, in summer, a quick lunch at the outside tables. Perinovesco is also famous for its Christmas panettone and Easter colomba.
