Più di un GelatoPiù di un Gelato is the long dreamt of ice cream parlour of Cooperativa Ass.i.s.te, specialized in social, healthcare, teaching and educational services, and is run by master gelatier Alfio Tarateta. The result is a business that gambles a lot on the quality and Piedmontese origin of its products, working with mostly zero-kilometre seasonal ingredients. The range comprises 15 or so flavours that change frequently, plus five or six granitas. Among the favourite flavours are persi pien, a typical Piedmontese stuffed peach dessert, and coffee-flavoured stracciatella, a speciality of the house.
A novelty this year is a “different” aperitif, the “aperigelato”, an ice-oriented take on the classic cocktail party with ice-cream based creative drinks such as Nostropolitan, a cosmopolitan with raspberry ice cream and cream, panna, Savautoska, with vodka and lemon ice cream, and Cafè Ma, a revisitation of the White Russian with coffee liqueur and fior di latte or gianduja ice cream.
