The word “Più” in front of “gelato” is intended to show how this gelateria is part of a broader social project promoted by Cooperativa Ass.i.s.te. Led by Carla Stillavato and Giorgio Piantino, its aims include the creation of job opportunities, especially among young people. It was Alfio Terateta, a big name in the Piedmontese artisan ice cream world, who supervised the launch of the initiative more than ten years ago. Fruit and honey are supplied by the La Manna farm in Costigliole Saluzzo (Cuneo), also owned by the cooperative, and an average of 15 cream and fruit flavors are generally on offer to the public; worth mentioning are white coffee, hazelnut with almonds, hazelnut (made using the PGI Piedmontese variety), yogurt, honey and walnut, ramassin, or damson, and persi pien (which evokes the traditional Piedmontese dessert of peaches stuffed with chocolate and amaretti cookies). In summer the shop also sells granita and the whole ice cream production process (except for the final creaming) takes place nearby in the workshop at Via San Tommaso 6.
