The Valli di Lanzo are the setting for this project that began in Mezzenile as many as 26 years ago. It was Stefano Poretti who set it all off with his desire to devote himself to the art of chocolate and the sourcing of the finest ingredients, and today he continues to run this temple of taste with his wife Silvia Braconi. The main attractions other than the handmade giandujotti are the Quadretti Poretti, Chocoaperitivo and original sculptures specially designed for events and holidays. The place is also famous for its Easter eggs and different chocolate shapes, many of which depicting animals (like the toporetti, chocolate mice), not to mention the excellent hot chocolate to take away and drink on foot in the autumn and winter months. Then come plain chocolate and hazelnut or simple plain chocolate cream spreads and, in summer, delicious ice cream made fresh with plain chocolate and caramelised almonds. A distinctive feature of Poretti is its concern for the art of decoration: hence the stylish packaging not only of Easter eggs, but also cakes, boxes of mixed chocolates and all the various chocolate bars on sale in the shop.
