Since 2009, Diego and Franca Trompetto, with their son Matteo, have cultivated fruit and grapes on the Serra, a morainal ridge, and processed them, respectively, in their workshop and wine cellar. In 2018 they extended their winemaking activity and began ageing their wines in a balmetto – a centuries-old natural cellar that exploits fresh air from the bowels of the earth to keep the temperature cool and constant – in Borgofranco d’Ivrea. The farm produces white wines such as Erbaluce, using the cryomaceration technique (Mezzavilla) and the orange wine style (Diverso), and reds such as Canavese Rosso (Frenesia) and Canavese Nebbiolo (Contacc). Matteo also used native grapes such as neretto (Ne), slarina (Essenne) and uva rara, blended with barbera and freisa (Liverghin), and as a rosé (Rarissima). The farm also produces classic jams (berry fruits and apricots), fruit juices, antipasti, sauces and special preserves such as peach, amaretti and cacao, and pear and chocolate. All products can be bought online or at the farm shop on Thursday and Friday from 3pm to 7.30pm.
